We are look for people to knit something we can sell - it can be simple like an Xmas decoration or an iPhone cover or a hat.

Details of the event below.

The Big Issue is having its annual Knitathon on Nov 1st in Willesden Green 10-2pm where we will be knitting and selling knitted and other crafted items to help provide winter shelters for the homeless.

Even if you can’t knit, you could sponsor someone else to knit for an hour or more. Or you could provide something else for us to sell - cakes, embroidered items, bric-a-brac and so on.

All you fellas out there - why don’t you get sponsored to learn to knit for an hour? It’s easier that you think - we’ll cast on for you and then you can knit yourself a scarf!

Also welcome any spare wool you might have so that we can make more items.

If you can’t come along but would like to be sponsored or to provide knitted items then contact Elayne Coakes on elayne.coakes@btinternet.com

or sponsor us on https://bigissue.believe.in/fundraising/im-running-a-knitathon-to-support-big-issue-vendors-over-the-harsh-winter-season/ WGreen Knitters.
January Stitch meet-uptag:ttkensaltokilburn.ning.com,2014-01-09:3499303:Topic:682912014-01-09T15:41:52.021ZFiona Bigginshttp://ttkensaltokilburn.ning.com/profile/FionaBiggins

Hello there, we are running an arty, creative, fun Winter Market on December 1, 6, 8, 13 & 15 and looking for people to get involved. It will be at The Albert, which is an exciting new arts venue and meanwhile project located opposite Queens Park station. Please email me if you're interested carencan at mac dot com. It will be a lot of festive fun and creative adventures and we need people to help make it. Thanks and best, Caren (an infrequent knitter and future crocheter... Hopefully)

Peaceful Solutions on Chamberlayne Road would like to offer our shop as a venue for you to use. . . . .Please contact me on 0208 969 7413 if this is of interest to you. We offer a lovely premise in Kensal Rise, and would provide food for knitters who care to purchase organic savories and sweets. . . .Let me know what you think 6:30 to 9:00 pm on a Thursday is perfect or Sunday afternoons would be fab. . . .We would like to be part of organization too.

I've been asked if the newly formed crochet and knitting group could contribute a workshop at the upcoming harvest festival. I am still quite new to crochet and it took me a while to just learn the basics so I am not sure a workshop involving people making something using crochet or knitting will really work. It's not really something you can pick up and do and have a good result in a short amount of time. I will put my thinking cap on but if anyone else has any ideas please put them on…
