Hello Juan !

I went for a look earlier today, not much activity on the "take off" board, because of the cool weather then.

David and I are planning a visit tomorrow sunday. interested to come along ? let me know.Steph

They look very healthy bringing lots of pollen. Better to leave them be for the moment.

In response to Molly's question (bees on a 2nd floor flat roof?) I had a friend who keeps bees come round and look at my 2nd floor extension flat roof. He thought it would be a fine place to keep a hive - pointing outwards off the back end of the extension away from the house. It does increase your bee traffic in the area obviously, but by and large the bees will fly in and out of the hive to forage elsewhere. Having said that, any one thinking of establishing a hive needs to go on a course or have a mentor or both but the location certainly doesn't sound like it rules out keeping bees.

Currently the local honey people I know are low on stock, but I will ask around.

Hello. I had no idea of this wonderful local resource. I was hoping you could help because I am interested in bee keeping. My grand father used to look after them but I never had the opportunity to learn from his knowledge and so I would very much like you to get in touch with me so I could learn about the possibilities of helping to look after them and perhaps one day keeping a hive.
