I read in the Guardian last week (ok, so it may be wrong) that emissions from domestic properties are no lower than they were 20 years ago.  The explanation was that altho some insulation has been done, it's not enough and we're using more electricity for computers and plasma screens.  Also, more people are living alone.  Emissions from industry have fallen, but that's largely to do with the recession.  Read more.

As I'm enjoying my annual "Frugal February" I'm going to borrow an Energy Meter from Kilburn Library and see if I can reduce my emissions from electricity use.  I'll let you know how I get on.

I joined brentgoinggreen in May, and so far I am the only participant to submit videos which can be seen on youtube. I think "your washing machine can make you green" is the funniest. This is a really easy way to get important messages across about saving energy, I can't understand why more people don't make them.

Hi Barbara

Thanks for this info. I have replied to sign up.

By the way. I am intrigued that since my comment to this group in October last year, in which I included our household emissions data, no other group member has replied with their data. David and George replied with very useful thoughts but not their actual household usage data. T
