WANT TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR ENERGY BILLS ?

TAKE THE BRENT GOING GREEN CHALLENGE !

Dear all,

As a new member, I would like to contribute by letting you know this great initiative of the Brent Council.
Participants will receive a free energy monitoring device to monitor their consumption, become aware of their expenses, and reduce them.

The three challengers who save the most energy will receive prizes at the Brent Going Green Awards ceremony in November.

Good for you, good for the planet !

Draught-busting workshop was very good - simple and practical. Thanks to all for organising it and helping buy DIY material and save money.

Can we of the B&E group meet up so we can get to Know each other and start looking at ideas face to face? What do others think?

No, unfortunately I've something else on. Perhaps you or someone would ask him to contact me, or get his contact details so I can phone or email him for a chat about it?

Matthew - are you coming to our film night at the Lexi on Wednesday? I think that Alexis from Transition Belsize is planning to come and he has just come back from Germany where he has been researching PassivHaus...

I live in a Victorian terraced house and intend to make some major changes to the building to make it more suitable for our family needs and to cut the carbon footprint of the building by hopefully incorporating as many PassivHaus features as possible. I'd be interested in anyone with practical experience of this, or a professional interest, and also if anyone knows how good Brent Council Planning Dept are on green issues etc.

Hi Everyone. Its good to work out how much energy you are using in your home. You can then work out how to reduce your consumption. For most people in this area home energy consumption is a combination of gas and electricity usage. I am going to work out what we use in our house and post it on this site in a weeks time. Tom
