Hi, I've not met any of you yet but I am really keen to get something off the ground. I would love to come on the cycle tour if I am free. I have no experience of growing, just time and enthusiasm!

Petica - you sent a message out re permaculture courses and looking for sites... the latest from us is that we are planning to hold a weekend permaculture course in the area run by Naturewise at the end of November - just settling on dates (probably the last weekend). Also the food group is meeting next wednesday 29th and one of the topics for dicussion is the idea of having a cycle tour of all the sites in the area that we have identified so far where we could set up public/community growing spaces... Keep us in touch...
Are you coming to the Havest Festival? It'll be a great place to catch up and talk about next steps... George

Hi George, sorry i did not make it to the green drinks last night, were you there?
Do you know if the permablitz group is going to meet up at some point?

I'm reading 'How to make a forest garden' by Patrick Whitefield - so we can compare notes!!
Next Wed the film ('a crude awakening') is at the Lexi at 7pm and then we'll be at the Constitution Club from 8.15 or so. The next Green Drinks is at Hugo's on Lonsdale Road the following Tues (26th Jan)... Gx

George thanks for the info! I have not done the course yet, am planning to do it n the Spring or summer, but yes you're right , I am feeling quite ignorant about how to begin....have just bought a book on permaculture which I have started reading, so will be taking notes!
Depending at what time is the discussion at the Constitution Club, am not sure if I can join the discussion this wednesday, I could if it was before 8pm. I completely forgot about the last tuesday of the month Green Drinks, is that in the Lonsdale mews in Queens Park? If I don't make it on a wednesday, I will definitely come on the last tuesday to discuss this further, and might have a little more info by then to share with the group! But it would be great to meet all of you interested in permaculture, and see how we can bring it here. So hopefully, we will meet soon.

Rani - thats fantastic that you're doing a course... I think that we have lots of enthusiasm to do something here, lots of ideas about different spaces where we could permablitz and I think that the main hurdle at the moment is that no-one feels like they have the expertise to lead it. It would be great to meet and discuss how to take this further - will you be at the film night next Wednesday at the Lexi? or able to come to the Constitution Club afterwards - that would be a great place to get people together to talk about it - or if not then there is always the Green Drinks on the last tuesday of the month?? hello, I would like to join the permablitz group, even though I have very little experience of gardening or growing food. But I have attended a workshop in permacuture last year, that was really inspiring, and intend doing the design course sometime this year, so i am looking to help out anyone with their gardening or permaculture project, and learn and eventually start a permaculture project in my neighbour's garden, as I do not have a garden myself, so please let me know if any of you would be interested in setting this up with me this year in March.
Is the parmablitz group meeting togheter from time to time? it would be great to meet you all, and see how we can help each other and learn and bring permaculture into Kensal Rise/Queen's Park.
could we organise an informal meeting at some point? over coffee or a drink or at someone's place?
I am eager to start and learn, and help!

There are 3 or 4 neglected raised flowerbeds at the far end of the Kilburn Jubillee station platform that would be good to blitz...and fantastic for raising profile of TT locally. OK, some of the veg might be picked by commuters from time to time but worth asking tube management?

Do guerilla gardening and permaculture go together? Here's a video of guerilla gardening in Kensal Green:

No response from leads provided, but Leeds (Permaculture Association Britain) has responded with ...

'We are working hard to get the user-contributed content set up on our website, and I think that will really help with networking.'

Once that's up then perhaps we can use that tool to find some experienced permaculture people to get involved with our permablitzes.
