Unfortunately, something urgent has come up at the last minute. I have to leave London early tomorrow to attend to it and won't be back in time for the gardening club.
I have asked Miko if it would be possible for him to run the club tomorrow, from around 12.30 - 1.30. (No reply as yet ...)
For anyone who goes along, the bed that Miko and friends planted while I was away needs weeding. You will see that a few things have grown but a lot haven't and it would be good to clear the rows where the seeds haven't germinated so that we can plant something new.
Otherwise, everything will need watering. The park-keeper in the tennis hut will organise for a bowser full of water to come if you ask him.
Very sorry not to be there and for the late notice. I will be there again on Wednesday at 2.00 p.m.   Maggie

Great progress on a number of fronts, thanks to help of Richard Gentry, QP Manager!

(1) Tools have been set aside for QP allotment and will be moved to the shed next to tennis/golf kiosk
(2) Park-keepers will dig out of large plants in triangular bed and we can also use this to grow fruit and veg
(3) Richard will organise for farmyard manure, wood chippings/mulch and topsoil to be brought over for use in the triangular bed
(4) We can have some of the Queens Park grass cuttings to help make compost in the new compost bin
Next meeting Wednesday at 2.00 p.m. when we will be planting two apple trees donated to the project from Michael Stuart's South Kilburn project. (Thanks Michael!)
Hope to see you there!                                         Maggie
Send over a couple of bags of grass cuttings to contribute to compost bin

It's fine to come whenever you can, Natasha. None of us can make it every time anyway. Look forward to seeing you in not too long.

ah shame, i was hoping someone might have taken up your offer to do a regular earlier slot. Unfortunately 2-3 doesn't really suit me as it'll mean i can't work afternoons.

are you happy for people to join in on a rather irregular basis? I'm keen to be part of the group but i might only be able to make it once a month or so when i don't have wednesday work comitments and i don't have saturday classes.

Have fun tomorrow.

Hi Natasha! Very sorry to hear you can't make it tomorrow at 2.00.

Can you schedule for an afternoon meeting on future Wednesdays? Or otherwise, can you come on Saturday at 12.30?

If you look at the comment below your's, you'll see it's from me and already gives the meeting time as 2.00. Also that I've explained I have work commitments every Wednesday morning so cannot change the group to a morning time.

I think it's important we all show up together, rather than at different times, so that we can work together, everyone knows what is happening, and we can learn from one another's experience.

Hope you can work something out. Maggie

I'm back next Wednesday but still can't be there before 2.00 myself because of work commitments in the morning. Am happy to hand over if someone else with knowledge can regularly be there at the earlier time and if that would suit people better. Archie? Miko? Can you post a comment yes or no so that we can sort it out and people don't make a wasted journey, as Shiva did last Wednesday?

Saturdays are easier - I can make any time. 12.30 seems to be suiting people so suggest we leave it there - but open to other suggestions.

Am looking forward to seeing what has grown. All best, Maggie

We put in some onions, pumpkins, herbs and to attract pollinators, some mixed flowers!

I will be there 1230 sat.

Really sorry if the timings have got confusing... I think that the meetings are now 11am on Wednesdays and 1230 on Saturdays.

I've put events on the website for Saturday and next Wednesday.  I know Maggie is still away... I believe that Archie will be there next Wednesday, Miko, will you be around on Saturday?
