Best thing to do would be to come to one of the regular QP allotment gardening club meet-ups: every wednesday at 2pm and saturday at 1230 at the allotment behind the cafe in queens park.

Re: Georges comment - that's great thanks! I have some meetings booked in on this Wednesday afternoon so can't do this time; I'll keep an eye on future dates then pop over to have a chat, hopefully following this I'll be able to bring a few extra hands.

Re Louise's comment - All are very welcome.  Maggie Turp is the main point of contact for the Queens Park allotment. Also do come along to the food group meeting next wednesday 11th _ see events page _ to find out about all the other activities including community allotments that are going on.

Re Richard's comment - that is fantastic news re water butt.

Does anyone object of I take some photographs when you're working on the plots in Queen's Park?   It will probably be over the next couple of weeks. I'm trying to capture various activities in the park and it will be useful for the Parks picture library. Richard Gentry.

 

PS. Maggie, the cafe have said yes to the water butt at the rear.

Hi everyone

I've been given info on the community allotment by a colleague at work as I'm currently looking for this type of activity for a small group of volunteers who live in the Queens Park area. Just wondering who might be the best person to talk to about this.  Do you need more people to help? Look forward to hearing back.  Louise

Next allotment meetings:

This Wednesday, May 4, at 2.00. We shall be building bean wigwams.

This Saturday, May 7th, at 12.30.

Wednesday 11th May at 2.00.

Sunday 15th May at 12.30. Please note the change of day. We shall carry on with the gardening club immediately after the seedling swap event outside the cafe and plant out anything we have swapped right away

Next Saturday fine, Miko. Sorry about last Saturday. Emergency involving my elderly Mum. Long story, but meant I just couldn't be in QP at midday.

Ho hum, just noticed maggies' comment after having turned up with tomato plants! Thought I had left a message saying I would definitely come, obviously eaten by my phone.

We did some weeding, and spoke to park keeper who said they have been watering beds, and will do more today.

Maggie, swap next saturday?
