Queens Park Allotment (active group)

Most of the plot is now divided into mini-plots, with individuals each taking responsibility for a numbered mini-plot. 'Garden together' events, where as many members as possible come along are posted on the website regularly. Large tools are provided but please bring your own small trowel, fork and gloves. If you are interested in having a mini-plot, please register on the website and post a comment with your enquiry.

Hallo all,

I've put some squash plants in the plot that Kate can't manage after all, so that it's used until the next new member comes along - I'm sure it won't be long. If you could also give them a bit of water if it's dry while I'm away, that would be great. Kim, if you and Jenna don't have space for all three courgette plants, you can always put on in the 'spare' bed as well. Best Maggie

Hi everyone, I haven't heard back if anyone (excluding Kim) wants to come together on the 29th? As its next week, lets postpone. How about the last Sunday in June - the 26th?

Have a great week everyone

Hi Kim, if you can use the extra plant - no problem for me, I just thought they were spare and didn't want them to go to waste. I can plant them in my garden at home - or I can plant one in the plot for whomever takes over.

Maggie, yes my plot is available for any newbies interested in joining.

I am happy to help with watering the beans, I do hope everyone else will assist in this too.

Hi Maggi,

Thank you for the courgette plants! I will pick one up on Thursday when I swing by. Jenna, I already have another courgette plant growing on my windowsill at home so am happy to take only one and leave the other two for you.

And when I water my allotment I will water the beans too.

Re May 29th, I am still on holiday, Jenna. I can come in June if you suggest a further date, although my hand op will mean I can't do much. Meanwhile, can we/you try collectively to keep the beans I've planted on the tennis court wire netting watered? They are for everyone.... Maggie

Hi Everyone,f

If you're thinking of watering, can you review the instructions I posted before you go to the park (or save them somewhere handy on your phone)?  A park-keeper said someone had been asking him for guidance and told me off for not telling you the key was hanging in the shed etc! Maggie

Hi Jenna,

I'm confused about whether we have a plot waiting for a new member, now that Ana has dropped out. Is there someone else, or are you continuing with the plot until you go, or is it free if someone else asks? Maggie

Hi Kim and Jenna,

I had three courgette plants left and they are tucked in behind one of the bunches of chives in the long narrow bed closest to the cafe. Can you divide them up between you?

Hi Maggi,

If you've still got courgette plants to give away, I could do this Thursday around 6.25pm. Unfortunately I've not go much leeway with timings as I finish work at 5.30pm and I've got a rugby game at 6.45pm! Do you think that could work?

And Jenna, I should be around on Sunday the 29th of May for the next dig together, so that would be a good day for me.
