Local Fruit Harvesters

We pick fruit from local back gardens - apples, pears, plums etc and give it away to schools and community groups, make juice, jam or just eat it. All to save fruit from rotting on the ground. We make juice at festivals and on the street and have held jam and chutney making workshops.  We have over 150 people on our mailing list, and have worked with groups such as Brent MIND, Kids Company and other mental health and learning disability organisations.  We’ve trained 40 people to prune, lend out…See More

green tomato chutney workshop at Three Trees Children's Centre at the top of Tiverton Green

October 12, 2010 from 1:30pm to 4pm
Chutney making workshop lead by Majory. The tomatoes were grown at the Sure Start Children's Centre. There are limited creche making facilities. It is at a children's centre so you need to have an under five year old with you! Meet other transition town mums/carers and have fun while learning how to make chutney.

This sounds like a great film. It would be good to drum up some publicity for the film. And to do something positive to get people engaging with the food group while they are thinking about what they eat. Anyone want to work with me on this? Or is anyone doing something I can help with?? We could do a leaflet about food group plans (are they any??) Maybe we could have a quick food group meeting to jot some ideas down.
