Hello Willseden and around

I seem to have a lot of ripe looking plums on my plum tree- not that surprising I know, and it does seem to happen most years.... - Anyway it struck me that we've been talking a lot about fruit / food harvesting and  it might be interesting to let each other know what we are, and what we can, harvest right now!

- I haven't tried my apples yet- has anyone else?

anyone know of any apple + plum recipies?

I have some juicy looking damsons which I'll tackle at the weekend, I'm assuming it is the right time? Our apples look ridiculously ripe but I'm sure its too early - I have a tendancy to pick too early.

Last year I tried a lovely damson recipe, there is a plum and apple version here http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1412/plum-and-apple-cobbler

Thanks, that pie looks good, though in this heat I couldn't eat much at all.

Apparently many English apples are ripe early this year- but ours are mostly all cookers

Apple sorbert perhaps?

Hi there,

I'm currently helping to coordinate harvesting spare fruits from people's gardens. If you've got far more than you can handle let me know and we can sort out picking them up for donation to local schools, selling to shops (in aid of transition) or giving to members.
