Event Description

Campaign against Climate Change     www.campaigncc.org

The Campaign against Climate Change Trade Union group has now launched its petition for One Million Climate Jobs. It calls on the Government to give “urgent and serious consideration” to the recommendations of the Million Climate Jobs report and lists its key points. It is backed by a growing number of MPs and national trade unions.
This is an important tool for promoting the call for a million climate jobs and a useful focus for meetings and other campaign events in the coming months. It could have a considerable impact and help place the demand for a million green jobs higher on the political agenda.

We need help on Saturday at the big TUC march to help distribute postcards publicising the petition to marchers to get us on the way to our goal of one million signatures. We will be distributing leaflets from our stall, but in order to reach the maximum amount of people possible we need a team of people on the ground handing them out to marchers as they gather and set off on the march.

On the day, look for our stall. We aim to be based near Embankment station from around 9:30am but may not be able to get a space there. If you would like to receive a free text message with our location then e-mail info@campaigncc.org with your name and mobile number.

Contact numbers on the day are 0790 331 6331 or 07545 330 890.
Whether or not you can make it on Saturday, sign the petition here: www.climate-change-jobs.org/petition.

Be sure to forward it to all your friends, family, and colleagues. A paper version can be downloaded here.
