Event Description

Transition Willesden invite you to a workshop on:

Fermented Foods: Kefir, Carrot Sticks, and Beetroot Kvass

Following last year's successful sauerkraut workshop, Gill Jacobs is back for another evening of fermented foods.

We will sample and make:

Fermented Dairy Kefir Gill will demonstrate how to use the kefir in delicious morning breakfast smoothies, with pears or raspberries, ginger, cinnamon, coconut oil, and stevia. Pears are good with cocoa powder to make a wonderful chocolatey smoothie, which is also good for us. You will be able to taste these on the night. We will also talk about how to make cream cheese and whey to use in other fermented recipes. More here

We will have some kefir starter grains for those who want to start making this at home.

Fermented Beetroot Kvass to drink first thing. More here.

Fermented Carrot Sticks - excellent for dips & for those with gluten intolerance. You will also take some home to ferment.

Snacks and drinks will be provided. You may also like to bring food to share.

For booking and queries: contact Gill Jacobs - tel: 07584 305 648, or 020 7485 4220 or email gilljacobs@gmail.com

Cost: £15 (£10 unwaged).

Pls note unless places are filled from a waiting list, you will need to pay Gill beforehand as we need to buy in ingredients in advance. Book early as places are limited.

This workshop is now FULL!  You can still contact Gill to express interest, and we will see if another workshop can be organised later this year.
