Meeting organised by Brent Campaign against Climate Change and Brent Friends of the Earth, with expert speakers, followed by discussion.
The meeting will cover the latest scientific evidence and how the rapid disappearance of the Arctic ice cap affects food prices in Britain and the risk of further floods and droughts in other parts of the world.
Phil Thornhill,National Co-ordinator of Campaign against Climate Change, will review the latest scientific evidence of the depletion of Arctic ice and its possible effect on the world’s weather systems; and Kirtana Chandrasekaran, Campaigner in Land Use, Food and Water Security from Friends of the Earth, will talk about the vulnerability of the world’s food supply. They will also answer questions and open a discussion on what further action we should be taking in Brent.
Everyone is welcome to this local community briefing for residents and councillors to discuss what we can do in Brent to help lessen the threat of catastrophic climate change.
This is a free event and all are welcome. More information will be available shortly at www.brentfoe.com
