The Big Ride (download the poster) is a fun event with a serious message, calling on London's mayoral candidates to make the capital's streets as safe and inviting for cycling as they are in Holland (read more about it).

• Come on bike, foot, skates or rollerblades
• Dress yourself up and your bike in red & white campaign colours
• Make some noise: drums, whistles, cowbells, sound systems, etc

Ride details

• 11am assemble Park Lane (Upper Brook St)
• 12 noon ride departs
• Route Piccadilly Circus, Trafalagar Sq, Parliament Sq
• 2pm Victoria Embankment (finish)

How to get ready

• Plan your route to and from the ride (see below for guided rides)
• Print off our ride map for the day
• Decorate you and your bike in red/white (WIN AN £800 BROMPTON)

How to get there

• Roads along the route will close to traffic from 11.30am, so aim to arrive close to 11am to avoid getting caught in road closures
• Volunteers are providing guided rides from all over Greater London: find one near you on the list & a map
