On Saturday 6th Sept Maria, Viv and Janet had great fun at our first jam-making workshop in Dollis Hill.  We used delicious deep pink Rose Pearman apples picked from nearby Fleetwood Road, and Cricklewood blackberries to make pink apple jam, apple and blackberry jam, and a pink apple jelly.  With several pans of fragrant fruit bubbling away on Janet's solar-powered induction hob, we were also shown her super-efficient 'rocket' hot composter, that cooks up the remaining food waste.

In all we made enough jars to take away a few, with enough to sell at our stall at Cricklewood festival on Saturday 20th September.  A big thanks to Janet, who is already looking forward to next year's crop!
