Please join us for our Autumn open meeting for members of Transition Town Kensal to Kilburn, your friends and neighbours on
Thursday Oct 3rd, 7.30-10.30pm, Tin Tabernacle, 12-16 Cambridge Avenue, NW6 5BA (near Kiburn High Road).
We’re meeting at the wonderful Tin Tabernacle, an eccentric listed building. Corrugated iron flat-pack on the outside, Royal Navy ship inside, complete with anti-aircraft gun, portholes and sea cadets. If you haven’t experienced this ‘temporary’ 1863 Church it’s worth coming along just for that. http://tintabernaclekilburn.org.uk/about.html
If we're not bewitched by the building, we’ll have an update on the lovely Field to Fork veg box scheme, the Edible High Road trees, and this exciting proposal for local green film and food evenings:
South Kilburn Studios and film maker Rani Khanna are keen to organise social events which combine food and film. Similar to the programming available at the Permaculture Picturehouse at Passing Clouds in Dalston the events would be fun, inspiring, informative and welcoming. They are looking for volunteers to help make it happen.
Plus Gemma Harris from Urban Harvest will bring a dehydrator and dried fruit samples. She’ll explain the ins and outs of preserving fruit by drying it – right in the middle of our fruit harvesting season.
Oh, while we're there we'll also have our AGM - if you want to join the core group and help make exciting things happen get in touch!
If you have a craft or other skill you’d like to share on the evening please get in touch. There’ll also be plenty of time to socialise and eat as all speakers are very strictly timed. If you can bring and share food all the better! Especially dips to go with local veg.
Hope to see you there!
