Hi everyone,

I'm new to K2K TT, but not to these issues! I was wondering if anyone was planning anything in the area for the Global Work Party that 10:10, 350.org and others are calling for on the 10th October...anyone interested in getting together and working on a 'work party'?

350.org, the organisation behind the worldwide global day of action in October 2009, is calling out for
people to organise “work parties”, with an emphasis on both “work” and “party”.
These events would be a chance to showcase activities which are being done at a
local level to implement solutions to the climate
crisis: from solar panels to community gardens, wind turbines to bike
workshops. The actions will tell leaders: “We're getting to work--what about
you?” After a big day of work, it’ll be time to celebrate. This is the time to
get everyone involved together to honor your good work, thank everyone who
helped, and show everyone in your community how fun working together for a 350
future can be.

350.org has produced lots of resources to help you get involved including:

Hi Hannah

Camden Friends of the Earth are holding a pop-up vegan banquet on Sun 10 October to raise awareness of the 350 campaign and raise funds for Friends of the Earth.
Book your place and find out more here
http://www.justgiving.com/veganbanquet.
you'll need to register in next couple of days.

Hi George, thanks for your response. I tried looking for you all at Queen's Park Day but couldn't find you. I must have turned up a bit late. I won't be around for the 2nd of October (I live between Paris and London, though am London based this year) but I'd love to come to a meeting and get some more info - I could perhaps volunteer to put it into the 350.org map as the 10:10:10 event for this area...doesn't matter if its a week early. Do send me an email at hannah.mowat@queenspark.me.uk with details of the next meeting if its possible to invite me, I'd love to help publicise/network in any way I can...

Hi Hannah...
This sounds a great idea - it also feels like we are kind of following this format for our Harvest Festival the weekend before on 2nd October... We've an afternoon of workshops and then harvest supper and a celeidh band in the evening. Have a look at the post on the forum page for more detail. I've a feeling that this is taking up the majority of our organisational resources at the moment- but if you are organising anything in this area for the 10:10 event on 10th Oct - then do let me know and we'll do what we can to publicise or help.. George
