We're here every Wed 2.30-4.30pm. Do join us to garden or say hello. We've restarted the allotment with local residents at William Dunbar/Saville House. Best way to find us is to go up Albert Road and turn right just past the low building and look out for the greenery.

The allotment is now being managed through Granville Centre, Carlton Vale.
We are looking at growing in a different way which would involve people having individual plots and better access to the space. We have also given some thought as to how to facilitate easier access to the tool shed. If you would be interested in growing in the space, having your own plot or possibly sharing a plot please contact me on marjory.fraser@ntlworld.com by 15 June.
Thanks very much to Maggie for sharing her experience from the Queens Park growing space.
The growing space is located between Carlton Vale and Albert Road between the tower blocks.
It's the end of the growing season, and we will be starting to plan for next year - so we will be having our annual planning meeting on Wednesday November 14th 2.30 - 4pm at The Granville Centre on Carlton Vale, near the allotment. If you are interested in growing with us next spring, please come along. Can you let me know if you're intending to come, so that we can make sure that we have a big enough space for the group,
We are still very active at the allotment and there every Wednesday afternoon between 2.30 and 4.30.We are delighted to share some of the space this year with students from the Leonard Cheshire charity. Although the students have only been with us for a short time they have already planted up a bed with herbs and vegetables in addition to making bee hotels which they have placed around the site.
Although we are a small group since April we have planted potatoes, beetroot, beans, kale, chard, courgettes, squash, Aztec broccoli and salad leaves. We lare looking forward to a great crop of potatoes. This year so far we have harvested rhubarb, spinach, leeks, a handful of broad beans and piles of rocket. The allotment robin is a regular visitor - with the earth worms that he forages an indication of how the soil has improved in quality.
Hi Lyn if you see this it would be great if you could come along on a Wednesday so we do some planning for the rest of the site. We would also like to clear some of the non green rubbish which is around the site.
Anyone who is interested in getting involved please either come along on a Wednesday or give Marjory a ring on 0751 755 6768
Over the last few years at the William Dunbar/Saville allotment we have grown and learnt a lot in addition to making friends and connections. This year we plan to relaunch the food growing space and are keen to hear from people who want to get involved. We have been working communally, sharing our harvest but are open to ideas from others as to how the space could grow. We plan to hold an information session around March so look out for details. Alternatively post your interest and we can arrange for you to visit the site.
