Event Description

TTKK very first exhibition in cooperation with Brent Museum and Archives and with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund!
The exhibition is dedicated to day-to-day life and community life in Kilburn, Kensal Green, Brondesbury and Mapesbury in the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s before cheap oil and consumerism took the world by storm.
Carol Low and Sue Arthur, with the help of Sarah Deco, interviewed 15 local residents about a time when cars were rare, TV sets even rarer and make do and mend was the rule.
As part of the exhibition, you'll be able to listen to extracts of interviews and see for yourself what life was like back in the days thanks to photos from personal collections and local archives as well as artefacts.
