Meanwhile Gardens Community Association (active independent group)

What was once four acres of derelict wasteland is now a green oasis in densely populated North Kensington, where there is a recognised lack of green space.

Meanwhile Gardens enhances the lives of residents by providing safe and inclusive open-air leisure, play, training and educational opportunities.

About

Meanwhile gardens is a registered charity which seeks to improve the quality of life and leisure for the local community, through:

  • Volunteering opportunities to improve horticulture skills and gain qualifications, including supporting vulnerable adults into employment, corporate team building, gardening & food growing.
  • Building awareness of healthy living through workshops and classes in parenting, healthy eating and food growing activities including our Tiny Green Fingers Grow and Eat Project at our Playhut.  We have a long term partnership with K&C Mind who run a Wildlife Garden Project on our site providing training and work experience for local people with long term mental ill health.
  • Building community relationships, providing events for local people to appreciate different cultures. Children’s activities at the Notting Hill Carnival, and various festivals and events.
