Who am I?

Hi, I'm Chris Wells. I'm on the TTK2K Initiating team.

I'm a graphic designer by trade, working with charities and arts organizations.

I mostly manage this site, as well as designing all our promotional material, the newsletter and all sorts of other bits and pieces. I run our Twitter account.

How I contribute to TTK2K:

I'm also quite involved with the Transition Network with whom I'm hoping to build a bespoke website for any initiative in the movement to have for free.

I've just started a new Communications Group to help us engage with more local people, media and to share stories of our successes with our wider community.

If you've any ideas for either, drop me a line! I'd be delighted to hear from you.

Hello Chris - I'm a graphic designer like you - with a passion for sheds and our little tenant garden shown in the photos. The ambition is to do a 'Nigel Slater' and cook up there somehow. We are a cooperative of three - my husbando and our neighbor. We began almost exactly a year ago with a fenced in area of lawn. We started hunting in skips and sometimes we found treasure. It's been a delight and it's coming together: this is our first growing season - so fingers crossed.

Hi Chris,

Even though I haven't watched it all yet - will definitely go back to it - I love the Ury video and have already told the camel story twice. Nice to see content like that up on the site. bw David

This is a tough one! The hands forming a heart and the sun coming through is beautiful! And the tree is so clean and unfussy that I can't help loving it. Can't both be used? I think it would be a shame to lose any of these two designs, just use them both, nothing wrong with that. Choice of tee-shirt, hm?

I'm good thanks - been to draught busting today (20 people there) and to Brent's composting site yesterday. Sorry I can't remember the event coming up either, unless it was the fruit harvesting meeting on the 24th?
Hope you're well

Offers: Seven medium-sized bags of topsoil

Posted on June 1, 2011 at 16:58 3 Comments

After a hearty weekend of gardening, my downstairs neighbour is now left with about seven medium-sized recycling bags filled with topsoil.

It's up for grabs but bear in mind it will need a bit of tender loving care and some mixing with manure before it'll be good to use.

If anyone's interested, it's available for immediate collection from Kilburn (but you must have your own transport).

Get in touch with me if you'd like to have…

Free paving slabs available

Posted on March 7, 2011 at 14:52 4 Comments

A friend of mine who lives in Leyton has recently converted her garden from a patio into a growing area so she now has about 32 paving slabs available for anyone who wants them (obviously you'll need your own transport to collect them).

She asked me to check if anyone from TTK2K would like first dibs on them. They're stacked up in her front garden so you can just pop down and help yourselves whenever you like.

Let me know if you're interested and I can give…

Dispatch from The Front Line of Climate Change

Posted on November 29, 2010 at 0:00 0 Comments

This is an account from Molly Fletcher ( Kensal to Kilburn Transition)

by an elderly (88) writer friend of hers Patricia Langdon-Davies who

lives on the Costa Brava, Spain, where the effects of climate change are becoming all too obvious. Autumn and Spring have disappeared, Summers are now extremely hot and Winters severely cold. Drought, flooding and freak storms are becoming normal.…
