Our bees are coming! The hives are ordered and the starter colonies will be with us in April, so please come and help us prepare their new home in Paddington cemetery on Saturday February 19th. We need volunteers to help Stephane and David mark out the site for the new hives. Come and learn how to make a low dead hedge and meet other people in the bee group. If you have a folding pruning saw or secaturs please bring them, if not you can bring a flask of tea and help any way. If you’re interested in bees and thinking of starting your own colony, the cemetery bees will be a place for you to see how it’s done. 10.00 am in the S.E. corner of Paddington Cemetery – at the bottom of Willesden Lane next to the Prince of Wales pub - turn left once you’re inside and keep walking about 200m. We’ll be working in the overgrown bit and look forward to seeing you. (Any questions and you can e-mail David at d.maxwellyoung@btinternet.com)

I went there this morning, and had fun learning that hedging technique, even if the weather was not on our side. I posted some pictures of the great crew as well on the transition website.

RAIN STOPS PLAY FOR TODAY
Hi all - I hope you check this page in time, but the weather forecast (and the evidence outside my window) is heavy rain right through lunch time. Not the weather for City folk to be making dead hedges in. Lets re-schedule for March 4th.
