I've just joined and look forward to meeting others. Two points of interest

1. My husband and I live in a conversation area and have had some (unsuccessful) negotiations with Brent Planning over solar panels for our front roof. We're now going ahead with panels on the sloping roof of our back extension - not as good but the best we can do at the moment.

2. I'm a long time allotment holder and skilled at preventing the weeds from growing when I'm out of town or out of…

Hi Maggie!

Hope you're well. Sally messaged me yesterday about looking after one of the new beds in the main allotment area (you had also mentioned this to me the other weekend when we were filling them up). If I pop down tomorrow, would you be able to show me which one is still free? Only if you're already going to be down there, obviously!

Thanks :)

Thanks Maggie for your speedy reply.

However I have no idea at all where to find the Queens Park Allotment people. That's why I contacted you. I have no idea what the website is or which groups there are. I'm brand new. Have been very ill for over a year and have now come out of it.

I've heard about Permaculture, is that something you would do to stop the weeds?

If you would give me a name and contact details then I can go meet them and; also find out where you all are.

Thanks,

Marianne Barkman

destroyed bay

Hi Maggie!

Hope all is well. We met a couple of weeks ago. I am in the neighbouring plot to you, plot 3.

When I visited the allotments on Monday unfortunately I found several things missing/ damaged:

- radish seedilings that one of the other plotholders had kindly distributed

- chives that I had planted removed

- bay tree planted removed  and tossed on the plot and left to dry out (see photo)

-  leaves from chard growing removed.

As the allotments are in a public space I accept occasional incidents  as collateral damage but I consider so many things going in a relatively short time frame as sabotage and a far from warm welcome to QP allotments

Please can you keep an eye out and ensure that my plot is not inadvertently being cleared out when the garden blitzes are organised.

If there is anything about my plot that needs attention please let me know so that I can work on it myself,

Thanks and see you soon no doubt : )

thanks Maggie! I joined Miko on Saturday and he showed me where and what everything was. I will try and come along next Saturday as well, although I am coming back from Holiday that morning so may not be back on time. I am definitely keen to keep involved, its a great wee site and I was so impressed with what you've all done so far!

Hi Maggie. I have managed to change the seedling swap to Sunday 15 May so we can involve the QP allotment. I have spoken to the manager of the cafe and he has given permission for us to use one their tables to put stuff on. I think this keeps things very simple and easy. I will be away from 4-11 May but will be back for the food group meeting. Look forward to seeing you then. Marjory

Hi Maggie

The seedling swap will be on 14 May. Would be great if you can help me with it. We can speak when you get back from holiday. Marjory
