Disco soup
Boogie-woogie your way to zero waste food! Disco soup is a fun event to raise awareness about food waste. It is organised by Kilburn residents. The initiative was taken by Thomas Fassnacht at the beginning of the year. Aldi, on Kilburn High Road, agreed to donate unsold vegetables and fruits to Thomas and since then other cafés have come on board by donating produce which would otherwise end up in landfill. The unsold produce is collected the day before the event. On the Monday, armed with peelers and chopping boards, participants prepare a big community dinner while a DJ is playing some 1980’s music. Cool, isn’t it?
Monday April 13th, from 6pm, Mazenod centre, 14 Mazenod avenue, NW6 4LS (closest tube stations: Kilburn and West Hampstead on the Jubilee line or Kilburn Park on the Bakerloo line; venue very close to Kilburn High Road Overground station)
