Is anyone interested in visiting BEDZED the low energy housing development in south London?  Weekdays 9-5 only, indivduals free. Group tours can be arranged, but expensive at £25 a head.  Alternatively, what about the ZOG house in Hazlemere road?  Send me a message if you'd like to do either.  Nick Hartley

Elaine - I agree the "energy conversations" event was really good and very inspiring.  Well done to George for organising and to the great speakers. Thanks for offering your house for a draught busting workshop. I will contact you directly about dates so we can push that forward. I have the list of all the people who expressed interest in attending.  I like the metaphor of the carbon quilt. Perhaps we could wrap some of that around your house? Tom

And I've just been on some transition training where I met Anthony from Transition Teignmouth who has developed two websites to help with visualising and and finding out about carbon emissions.  Both are v interesting. For example, the 80m tonnes of carbon dioxide which we put into the atmosphere every day can be represented as the thickness of a sheet of paper wrapping around the whole earth - making an extra layer of "carbon quilt" of 30mm per year.  The "quilt" was 1.9m thick before the Industrial Revolution, but is now nearly 3m thick (and getting 30mm thicker per year).  Anthony thinks that maybe one of the best ways to get people to think about climate change is by concentrating on the carbon situation.  http://carbonquilt.org/visualiser and http://www.carbonvisuals.com/

Hi.  The "Energy Conversations" evening was really good - especially the inspiring account from Sarah of Transition Belsize of how their draught busting project went from strength to strength.  Do we have a workshop planned in our area?  I'd love to offer my house - it's got loads of leaky window frames and could do with a bit of secondary glazing too.  A Saturday would be fine and I'd supply snacks
