1.55 and the rain's pouring down outside my window, so looks like no QP allotment meeting today. I'm away on Saturday but Miko is looking after things. Hope to see you all next Wednesday ...

Fantastic to now have two sources of water!

Yes, I will be around on Saturday at 1230 :)

By the way Maggie, I have recorded that DVD about permaculture forest gardens for you (and anyone else who's interested) to borrow, maybe can give it to you next time you and I are both there on a Saturday.

A quiet week on the allotment, I guess because of half term. Great news on watering though! The hose has been bought and we have connected it up twice and watered with no problems. If I'm not around, the tap is next to the cafe toilets. If the top is not on the tap, Sam the cafe manager will put it on for you if you ask. When you have finished, remember to tell Sam and put the hose back in the shed together with all the tap fittings, so there is nothing left behind on the tap. The route to the beds is convoluted but it works. It's much easier if two or three people work together to get it unwound and in place.

Even more exciting - provided we get some rain of course - is the water butt, now installed near the triangle bed to collect water off part of the cafe roof. I've just uploaded a photo to the site but don't know where it's gone. Can anyone help with that?

Hope to see some of you Wednesday. Next Saturday, I'm away again. Are you around to organise things, Miko?            Maggie

That was an easy job :)

Thanks!

Miko, I have discussed with Maggie access to a water supply. She has a hose pipe which can be connected to an existing tap near the cafe.

Richard

Another lovely day in Queen Park!

Ali came along (a natural gardener!) and we all did some weeding, watering, thinned out some broccoli (which I had to resist taking some home as it looked so yummy), removed the flowers from and took some leaves of the salad and pulled the last of the leeks.

Met Ian and we agreed that it would be great for us (ttkk) and them (q park) for us to have our own tap and hose.  Mentioned that I have tools/skills/van and could pay for the tap and pipe etc and do the job if we were given permission to install one.  Ian said he would talk to Richard Gentry.

I won't be around this sat 4th june as am going to green fair regents park.

Lovely day on sat!

Nilufer and Mia, Natasha, Natsu and I all did some weeding and planting and took some salad and veg home.

Was great to meet Natasha and discuss veg box schemes.

Photo attached of bed in full bloom, potatoes looking great!

Hi All, it was nice to meet some of you at the food group meeting recently. I can come along to the Saturday session on Sat 28th, but having never been before, it'd be good if someone can show me the ropes!
