Nettle pesto
Pick only the younger leaves at the tip of the plant until early June (later if you see more young leave coming through). Older leaves are not so tasty. Wash well and remove the tougher stems.
Stinging nettles are tasty and nutritious: 5.5% protein and 2.3% iron.

The Government has announced a “Review of statutory duties”, aimed at identifying and removing duties from local authorities which are a “burden”. One of the duties they are considering removing is the duty to provide sufficient number of allotments for people in the area who want one. A friend of mine who lives in Leyton has recently converted her garden from a patio into a growing area so she now has about 32 paving slabs available for anyone who wants them (obviously you'll need your own transport to collect them).
She asked me to check if anyone from TTK2K would like first dibs on them. They're stacked up in her front garden so you can just pop down and help yourselves whenever you like.
